Planning for Public Works Policy & Procedures Change

As a follow up to our recent meeting with the City of San Francisco, UCON is going to pull together as many contractors as possible to develop recommendations on how they can save money. This is a very unique opportunity to impact policy, processes and more.
The focus for potential cost savings will include but not be limited to:
What policies that you have to comply with have a direct cost and impact that could be changed, modified or eliminated?
What procedures that are included at the administrative or field level directly cost more that may not be necessary?
What are risk variables that directly increase bid costs for working in San Francisco vs other owners/ jurisdictions?
What materials, specifications or other elements are required that do not provide the City with additional value but drive up costs?
