Considering Not Extending?
The only reason not to extend is if you are seriously considering terminating your union agreement in 2027.
Agreements Subject to Extensions in 2026:
- Carpenters (N. CA) MLA
- Laborers (N. CA) MLA
- Laborers (N. CA) Landscape Agreement
- Laborers (N. CA) Traffic Control-Highway Improvement Agreement
- Pile Drivers (N. CA) MLA
Contractors signatory to any of the above agreements who intend to remain signatory do not need to do anything and will automatically be signed to the new extension agreement once it is finalized and ratified. However, contractors considering termination for any reason need to contact UCON right away.
If you choose not to extend:
- There will be an additional per hour increase to fringe benefits in 2026 ranging from $0.50 to $1.00, depending on the agreement. For the Laborers’ agreements, this increase will be permanent going forward.
- Check out the following resources right away (member log-in required) and contact UCON by May 1. If you do not contact us, you will be signed to the extension.
