AB 1198 Advances

Take Action - Send a Letter to Legislators

AB 1198 (Haney) continues to advance through the Legislature and remains a top UCON priority.

Current law can lock prevailing wage rates in place based on when a project is advertised, even when union-signatory contractors must pay higher wages under updated collective bargaining agreements during the life of the project. AB 1198 would help level the playing field by aligning prevailing wage requirements with the rates actually in effect when the work is performed.

UCON is leading the effort with labor partners to advance this reform, which is opposed by non-union contractor interests.

TAKE ACTION: Please send a letter to legislators urging their support for AB 1198. It only takes a few clicks and helps show strong contractor support for leveling the playing field on public works projects.
